Self directed learning This means that you are in charge of organising your own education for the day. This may involve work-shadowing another primary care specialty or clinic, for example. Or maybe visiting a secondary care department. Depending on your stage of training you may find it useful to meet your trainee colleagues for CSA practice, or revision together. Or it may be that the PDs suggest you organise a themed day (plenty of notice will be given!) which may cover a curriculum area, or focus on an area of professional need.
Please all bring at least once complaint/SEA/Clinical Governance issue with you for discussion. It doesnt have to have directed at you, but you need to have been involved in the process eg helped look into it, or been present at a practice meeting where it was analysed.
